South Adams County Water & Sanitation District

 
General Information: The South Adams County Water & Sanitation District (“Water District”) provides potable water, irrigation water and wastewater disposal services to a population of more than 50,000 customers throughout Commerce City and unincorporated Adams County.  In addition to its continuously expanding water distribution network and wastewater collection network, the Water District currently operates one water treatment facility and one wastewater treatment facility.
 
District Oversight: A five-member board (elected by residents and property owners residing within the Water District) meets monthly to review and approve the Water District’s operations and finances.
 
Property Tax Usage: Property taxes collected by the Water District are used to fund the repayment of bonds issued to finance the construction of the Water District’s infrastructure.
